Yarm Vineyard 2
All Saints Kings Academy 0

This was by far the most challenging of the pre-season friendlies with Yarm being a Premier Division outfit. Some great football was played by both sides, with All Saints creating much of the opening chances but couldn’t seem to get the ball on target, as more and more chances went begging. Yarm took the lead just before half time as a mix up at the back allowed the Yarm striker to run through to calmly slot the ball past Andy Bensley in the All Saints goal.

The second half was similar to the first with All Saints pressing for an equaliser, but they couldn’t find the final touch to put the ball in the net. Yarm again hit on the break and scored a header at the back post to kill off any chance of a comeback. Kings will have been disappointed not to have taken something from the game but their performance will have given them much confidence for the season ahead.
