Bensley out for the season after cup loss
Kings may have lost this cup tie in extra time against Billingham, but their bigger loss was that of keeper Andy Bensley who suffered a tib/fib break after a late challenge from an opposition player who was then sent off.
Kings defended well against a strong, physical Billingham after 30 mins after they conceded a penalty. Having lost Bensley on the stroke of half time, Kings came out for the second half with renewed determination and Ste Farish poked home a loose ball in the box from a corner.
The game had limited chances and inevitably went to extra time. Billingham were reduced to 9 men after a player peviously booked for a bad challenge showed dissent and was removed from the field of play.
Billingham scored soon after the first half of extra time commenced and ran out winners to progress to the quarter finals of the AWT
